Love Affair

i have a new love.  my rice cooker.  why have i spent so many hours of my life striving for the perfect rice in a pot on the stove?  granted, i can't screw up minute rice too badly, but...  we were at a friend's house not too long ago and she had this super fancy cooker.  i mentioned to DH that i'd consider getting one because it's so easy to whip up perfect rice every time.  next thing i know, he's home from Costco with a cooker!!  best $30 our family has spent in a LONG time. 

now, when i'm in crunch dinnertime trying to figure out a filler and don't have time to make some kind of potatoes (we're a meat and potatoes type of family), i can fire up the cooker and have perfect rice in 30min or less.  not to mention, all i have to do is dump in the rice, dump in the water and press a button.  sigh.  i have enough complicated things in my life that this, this, i LOVE.  just had to share - if you don't have a rice cooker and need to feed a few (i make rice for myself for lunch - add a little butter, dash of sugar and salt...mmmm), i highly recommend picking one up.
